Lesson Three: CastingCasting is the very first step to knitting. Firstly, a slip knot have to be make. The slip knot will be your first stitch.
- After a knot is made, insert the tip of a needle through the loop from front to the back.
- Gently pull other ends of the yarn in opposite directions to tighten the slip knot around the needle.
- Hold the needle containing th slip knot in your right hand hand
- wrap the strand of yarn connected to the ball around your left thumb, clockwise from front to back
- Insert the tip of the needle between your thumb and the strand of yarn, from the bottom to the top.
- Remove your thumb from the loop of yarn
- Gentlely pull on the strand of yarn connected to the ball to tighten the stitch.
